Plans have been released for a 22-storey tower in the heart of Watford.
Developer IDA London Holdings is seeking to replace the former RBS bank site in the town centre with a building of 103 flats.
The development site is on the corner of Clarendon Road and the ring road, opposite Watford Palace Theatre.
Neighbours have received letters informing them of the possible development and an online consultation has been set up ahead a formal planning application, which is yet to be submitted.
The consultation website states the car-free development will deliver 103 new "high-quality sustainable modern homes", a new café with business lounge, resident community room, resident bicycle workshop, and active open spaces for the local community.
The site adds that the homes will all have access to private balconies as well as shared communal terrace spaces and sky gardens.
Although the building would rise up to 22 storeys, the height has reportedly been broken up and set back at several points, following initial discussions with Watford Borough Council and the council’s Watford Design Review Panel.
At its highest point the building will be 22 storeys stepping down to seven storeys fronting onto Clarendon Road and 12 storeys towards Watford House Lane.
According to the proposals, the design of the building, which features four brick tones, has been done taking into account neighbouring Watford Palace Theatre and Beechen Grove Baptist Church.
The RBS bank in Clarendon Road closed a couple of years ago and the building is currently empty.
Any comments made on the initial consultation must be submitted by May 21. The consultation site can be found here.
