Motorists in areas including Watford, Chorleywood and South Oxhey are facing disruption after the green light was given for an extensive programme of roadworks.
A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details the 21 different sections of road - including significant stretches in the Vicarage Road and Hagden Lane area of Watford - that will be affected by temporary closures and no waiting restrictions from as early as Monday.
The order takes effect from May 17 and will last for 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown by signs on or near the streets where the works will be carried out. These are:
Main Parade, Chorleywood, from its westernmost junction with Whitelands Avenue north-eastwards, south-eastwards and south-westwards for a distance of approximately 81 metres.
New Parade, Chorleywood, from its westernmost junction with Whitelands Avenue south-westwards, south-eastwards and north-westwards for a distance of approximately 74m.
Whitelands Avenue, Chorleywood, from its junction with Shire Lane north-westwards and south-westwards to its junction with Blacketts Wood Drive for a distance of approximately 139m.
Whitelands Avenue, Chorleywood, from its junction with Brushwood Drive south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 552m.
Blacketts Wood Drive, Chorleywood, from its junction with Whitelands Avenue south-westwards for a distance of approximately 552m.
Willow Lane, Watford, from its junction with Vicarage Road south-westwards for a distance of approximately 115m.
Vicarage Road, Watford, from its junction with Hagden Lane north-eastwards to its junction with Farraline Road, a distance of approximately 576m.
Hagden Lane, Watford, from its junction with Vicarage Road north-westwards, south-westwards and north-westwards to its junction with Tolpits Lane, a distance of approximately 654m.
Little Green Lane, Croxley Green, from its junction with Sarratt Road eastwards, south-eastwards, north-eastwards and south-eastwards to its junction with Lincoln Drive, a distance of approximately 999m.
Aerodrome Way, Leavesden/Watford, from its junction with the Dowding Way roundabout south-eastwards and south-westwards to its junction with Ashfields, a distance of approximately 204m.
The service road fronting Nos. 527 to 561 St Albans Road, Watford, from its junction with the A41 The Dome roundabout north-westwards and north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 142m.
By The Wood, Carpenders Park, from its junction with Oxhey Lane south-westwards for a distance of approximately 33m.
Moor Lane Crossing, Rickmansworth, from its junction with Olds Approach north-eastwards and north-westwards for its entire length.
Birkdale Gardens, South Oxhey, from its junction with Fairfield Avenue north-westwards and north-eastwards to its junction with Prestwick Road, a distance of approximately 308m.
Fairfield Avenue, South Oxhey, from its junction with Gosforth Lane north-eastwards to its junction with Prestwick Road, a distance of approximately 349m.
Ferryhills Close, South Oxhey, from its junction with Fairfield Avenue south-eastwards for its entire length.
Henbury Way, Hayling, from its junction with Fairfield Avenue south-eastwards to its junction with Oxhey Drive, a distance of approximately 189m.
The service road situated on the west side of No. 13 Fairfield Avenue, South Oxhey, from its junction Fairfield Avenue south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 67m.
Bridlington Road, South Oxhey, from its junction with Fairfield Avenue south-eastwards to its junction with Oxhey Drive, a distance of approximately 193m.
Lincoln Drive, South Oxhey, from its junction with Gosforth Lane south-eastwards and south-westwards to its junction with Matlock Crescent, a distance of approximately 149m.
Thrumbs, Watford, from its junction with Longspring north-westwards and clockwise for its entire length.
