A former “dedicated and hardworking” county councillor has died at the age of 97.
Paul Goggins served as a councillor at Hertfordshire County Council for 24 years as the member for Abbots Langley from 1989 to 2013.
He also served as a district councillor on Three Rivers Council, representing Langleybury from 1986 to 2015.
As well as this, Paul had been chairman of Hertfordshire’s SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education), and served on the Community Services Committee, the Audit Committee and Resources Scrutiny Committee.
He was elected as an Honorary Alderman after his retirement in 2013.
Following his death, Hertfordshire County Council chairman Colette Wyatt-Lowe said: "Paul was a dedicated and hardworking councillor and was admired and trusted by all who worked with him.
"The thoughts of everyone at Hertfordshire County Council are with Paul's family at this time."
