A man has been charged with multiple offences following a suspected kidnapping in Hemel Hempstead.
Police were called at around 7.40am on Tuesday, May 4, to a report of a possible kidnap in the town.
Officers responded immediately and just before 8am found and stopped a vehicle containing a man and woman, who were known to each other, in Breakspear Way.
Corneliu Bratosin, 54, of Rowan Avenue, High Wycombe was arrested and subsequently charged with kidnap, assault, threats to kill, and stalking.
He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at remand court later today (Friday, May 7).
St Albans Road was closed westbound in Hemel Hempstead as police dealt with the incident, resulting in queues between Green Lane and Maylands Avenue.
