Police are carrying out "extensive enquiries" after a stabbing in Watford.
Officers, including armed units, were called to The Brow at around 5.30pm yesterday following reports that a man was injured.
An 18-year-old was found with a stab wound and it appears they were on a bench being treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Police say the victim's injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing. An air ambulance had landed in the area at the same time police were in the area.
A police cordon was set up outside the shops in The Brow last night as detectives began conducting enquiries into the stabbing.
Tape was stretched across several shopfronts and The Brow was closed in both directions between Newhouse Crescent and Louvain Way.
Numerous police vehicles were parked at the scene and the initial callout involved officers from the Hertfordshire armed policing unit and dog unit.
No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.
A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Officers were called to The Brow, Watford at around 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 April) to reports that a man had been injured.
"Officers attended the scene and traced the victim, aged 18, and discovered he had sustained a stab wound.
"The ambulance service also attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
"His injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing at this time."
The spokesperson added: "Officers completed a thorough search of the surrounding area, with support from the BCH Armed Policing Unit and the BCH Dog Unit, but no suspect was traced. It is believed the victim and suspect are known to each other.
"Officers are currently conducting extensive enquiries to identify the offender. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting ISR 610 of 27 April."
