It would seem that others are equally frustrated. Ms Serra’s letter highlighted the issue of those who hold posts creating a problem, only to take credit for resolving the very issue they initiated.
I have to echo this concern. All too often we see articles about cuts in public spending, yet surely if projects such as the Wiggenhall Road footpath were fully considered at the planning stage, money would be saved, not wasted.
As a pedestrian and keen Hornets fan, I was pleased to hear the pavement was to be laid. Sadly this was short lived. Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst only commissioned a short section to be installed. This resulted in pedestrians, families and mums with buggies being taken straight into the garage forecourt. Why would you allow this madness?
So early this year we hear that Cllr Giles-Medhurst has successfully added the final stretch of pavement. Took a selfie. Well done, thank you. But why was this not done originally, or at least done in one go when the mistake was recognised, saving the tax payer unnecessary expense.
Please, do it once, do it right.
