A major road in Watford was cordoned off by police after a man fell from a moving vehicle, police said.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has released more details about the incident that occurred in Exchange Road yesterday (April 12), which resulted in emergency services swarming the area around 10.15am.
The force says a man in his 40s suffered serious injuries after falling from a moving vehicle.
He was taken to a London hospital for treatment.
The incident has now been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, police said.

Several police cars and ambulances were in Exchange Road for hours yesterday as officers and paramedics worked at the scene, while the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was also called.
A road closure was put in place in Exchange Road that blocked traffic from driving towards the flyover above Watford town centre, leading to gridlock as traffic was diverted down Upton Road.
The closures were lifted at around 2.30pm.
