A shocking picture shows rubbish left behind in Cassiobury Park.
The image from Watford Borough Council shows litter strewn across the popular Watford park.
Empty glass bottles, cans and empty alcohol boxes were left after people gathered in the sun yesterday.
Dozens of plastic carrier bags and piles of burnt out rubbish were also left behind at the park.
Veolia workers were pictured cleaning up the mess this morning.
It comes after lockdown rules eased in England on Monday, allowing people to meet up outdoors or in gardens in groups of six.
Under the new restrictions, social distancing measures should remain in place.
The council said in a post on Instagram: "Thank you Veolia UK for trying to keep Cassiobury Park and our parks tidy.
"If public bins are full then please walk your rubbish home.
"To report any litter, please visit www.watford.gov.uk/report-it.
"Polluting our environment and costing millions of pounds to clean up, rather than being spent on positive and constructive work.
"Please also don’t light BBQ and bonfires as these damage parks. Patches of burned grass take months to recover and ruin wildlife habitats."
