Fans of sweet treats can start to get excited as a brand-new dessert parlour prepares to open its doors for the first time in Watford.
Heavenly Desserts has announced that it is opening a new store in High Street, which will bring new jobs to the town as well as a “new artisan dessert experience”.
The store will officially open on March 8 for collection or delivery until its official launch opening, which is set for May.
New store openings manager Usaamah Ashfaq said: “Heavenly Desserts is all about using the best ingredients, creating the perfect desserts and giving our guests an unrivalled experience.
“It’s a treat that allows our customers to indulge in a beautiful environment, whether for a celebration, or just to catch up with friends – and we can’t wait to open the doors for those across Watford and beyond to enjoy, when circumstances allow.
“Until then, we open our doors for takeaway & delivery on March 8th, allowing our community to experience Heavenly Desserts via JustEat, UberEats & Deliveroo.”
Heavenly Desserts were initially denied permission for a branch in the town centre in 2019 because Watford Borough Council essentially wanted to keep retail units in this location.
But last summer, the government made it easier for former retail units to be turned into other types of stores, like food, and Heavenly Desserts were able to secure permission from the council in light of the change.
The menu at the new store includes a wide range of pancakes, waffles and cakes that can be washed down with an artisan tea range, coffee and wide range of soft drinks.
An extensive Gluten Free & Vegan menu is also available.
Heavenly Desserts Watford franchisee Ismaeel Waseem added: “We will be creating approximately 20 new roles at the new store at a range of levels.
“Our new team has undergone intensive high-end artisan dessert training ahead of our opening so that every waffle, crepé and cake is picture perfect.”
The store opening is taking place alongside a competition giveaway - details have been released on the restaurant's Facebook page and dessert fans can download the Heavenly Desserts Rewards app to receive the latest news.
