A new authentic-styled Italian restaurant is making its way to Abbots Langley.
The hospitality sector has been shut for most of the last year following the Covid-19 pandemic, and Michelin star-experienced restaurant manager Devid Del Ferro cannot wait to bring back the personal touch of fine dining when his new restaurant opens.
All’oro Italia, a new rustic styled restaurant at School Mead, Abbots Langley, will be a very unique take on fine dining in the area – and the concept is likely to feel refreshing when lockdown restrictions ease.
Opening on March 8, the venue will operate both as a takeaway deli to buy fresh goods, produce and rich Italian coffee – and when restaurants are permitted to open, there will also be a candle lit restaurant with charming service.
Mr Del Ferro has worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years as managers in various venues, including his time operating the two Michelin star restaurant in the heart of Mayfair, The Greenhouse.
But despite the success of the French cuisine at The Greenhouse, the restaurant could not completely emulate Mr Del Ferro’s Italian roots and vision.
After building up his experience in the hospitality industry, it became clear that dining was not just about the food itself, but the personal experience and inviting service.
Talking about the restaurant, he said: “We wanted to open something in Abbots Langley, create an environment where people feel the Italian vibes.”
Mimicking the nature of service at traditional Italian restaurants, Mr Del Ferro helped illustrate what dining at All’oro Italia will be like.
From the moment people walk in, they will be greeted by accommodating Italian servers who spark charming conversation and build a positive atmosphere – one much needed after a year of general negativity.
Mr Del Ferro explained that building a good relationship and being attentive with diners is so important, and as they sit down at the candle lit table they will feel like they were whisked away to Italy itself.
“It’s not just a place, or just give them a drink and then the bill,” he added.
The venue is described as “rustic” but with a modern flair of a shiny grey shade and bright colours, a homely granite floor and gorgeous marble panels.
The menu– all traditional Italian recipes, with fresh ingredients sourced from Italy and put together by an experienced chef who worked many years in top Italian restaurants – is described as small and simple.
But before the restaurant itself can open, the deli will be the forefront of the venue – where people can come in and grab coffee, or buy fresh Italian ingredients including 5kg of fresh pasta that would be used in the restaurant.
The pasta for example will come in different shapes every day, while other ingredients including salami and mozzarella will be purchasable to make your own meals at home.
He added: “It’s a very English area in Abbots Langley, so we want to see how they respond to Italian products and give the nice experience to them.”
And he is adamant that people will be in a rush to visit restaurants once restrictions allow the restaurant to open, believing this will be a particular favourite spot for people in Abbots Langley.
The owner explained there’s so many vital features in the area, but there’s a lack of proper fine-dining experiences in the area.
All’oro Italia will open on March 8 from 7am to 8pm as a deli – before its grander opening when restaurants are permitted for a dine-in service.
It can be found at 20 Schoolmead, Unit 4, WD5 0LA.
