A car has broken down on the M1 near Hemel Hempsread
One of two southbound lanes has been on the motorway exit slip road at junction 8 (A414).
The car broke down at about 5.30pm.
Traffic is currently “coping well”.
Further up the road there is congestion northbound at junction 10 with the A5183.
Drivers are experiencing delays of up to 10 minutes.
Normal traffic conditions are expected by 6pm.
