Prezzo has confirmed which of its 22 restaurants have closed permanently - and its branch in Rickmansworth is not among them.
The Italian restaurant chain announced earlier this month it would be axing 22 branches and cutting 216 jobs after being rescued out of administration.
Cain International, which only bought the chain in December, bought it back from administrators in a pre-pack deal to secure its future.
The owner said the action protects the vast majority of Prezzo’s 2,900 team members’ jobs.
But the new owners have been unable to save all Prezzo's restaurants, with one branch in Hertfordshire - in Welwyn Garden City - closing for good.
However, Prezzo's site in Rickmansworth High Street is safe, for the time being.
All of the chain’s 178 restaurants are currently closed to customers in the face of the latest national coronavirus lockdown.
Cain International said earlier this month Prezzo’s restaurants had been able to operate for just 25 weeks out of the past 52 weeks but has seen fixed costs and rent accumulate.
The latest 22 closures are the second time Prezzo has had to close down its restaurants.
In 2018, the firm closed 94 branches after securing a deal with creditors for a company voluntary arrangement, leading to it shutting unprofitable branches and securing rent reductions.
