Girlguiding Hertfordshire is inviting current and former members to a virtual county-wide promise renewal event.
The event at 4pm on Sunday February 21 will be broadcast on YouTube and will coincide with World Thinking Day.
World Thinking Day is traditionally celebrated on February 22, first celebrated in 1926 to mark the joint birthday of Lord and Lady Baden Powell, the founders of Scouting and Girlguiding, respectively. It is a day when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts think of others from across the world.
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Leaders cannot meet in person at the moment - but they are still active in their communities, albeit virtually, keeping girls connected and inspired during lockdown.
Jenny Maskrey, county commissioner for Girlguiding Hertfordshire, said: "Thinking Day is a special celebration for ten million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide, from over 150 countries. There are 9,000 members of Girlguiding in Hertfordshire alone.
"As we all play our part in the fight against the global pandemic, it’s more important than ever that we think of each other, celebrate our guiding family all around the world, and do what we can to keep each other safe, mentally and physically."
The event will take place on Girlguiding Hertfordshire's YouTube channel.
