A police helicopter was called after law breakers broke into a property before running off.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says it was called to reports of a break-in at a property in Coates Way, Watford, around 10.50pm on Thursday, February 11.
Officers attended along with a dog unit, although the offenders fled the scene on foot before police arrived.
A police helicopter was deployed to conduct an extensive area search, the force said.
No arrests have been made.
