Freezing temperatures and snow could all soon be a memory as much warmer weather appears to be coming our way.
South West Hertfordshire has been subject to a very cold snap this month, with temperatures regularly feeling below freezing and icy roads becoming a common site across Watford and surrounding areas.
But according to the Met Office, that could be about to change, with temperatures set to rise during the week and reach highs of 11c by Friday.
And they will be as high as 12c in Watford, Borehamwood, Bushey, Rickmansworth and Kings Langley by the weekend, the weather forecaster says, with more sunshine predicted for Saturday and Sunday too.
The Met Office said the change in weather at the weekend across the UK will be “notable”.
Chief Meteorologist Neil Armstrong, said: “For the past week the UK has been in a very cold airmass with temperatures well below average, this will change through the weekend as milder air moves in from the Atlantic and pushes that cold airmass out into the North Sea.
“Where temperatures were close to freezing in many places last week, we could expect to see 11°C or 12°C next week.”
This forecast is correct as of 4pm Monday.
