Parking charges are planned to be introduced in a Watford road under proposals published this week.
A notice in this week’s Watford Observer from Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for Hertfordshire County Council, outlines the proposals to introduce pay and display parking in two sections of Eastbury Road.
If the order is approved, the scheme will be introduced for a maximum of three hours, with a no return within one hour restriction, from 8am to 6.30pm between Mondays and Saturdays at these locations:
Eastbury Road (north side) – from a point 105 metres east of its junction with Deacons Hill to a point 170 metres east of its junction with Deacons Hill
Eastbury Road (north side) – from a point 220 metres east of its junction with Deacons Hill to a point 385 metres east of its junction with Deacons Hill
The parking charges will be: 30p for up to 12 minutes; 50p for up to 24 minutes; 70p for up to 36 minutes; 90p for up to 48 minutes; £1.10 up to one hour; £2.20 up to two hours; £3.30 up to three hours.
There are also plans to introduce no waiting at any time restrictions along other sections of Eastbury Road.
Meanwhile, traffic using the Chalk Hill and Aldenham Road area in Watford could be disrupted by water main connection works from later this month.
An order is due to come into force on February 27 for a period of 18 months, however the restrictions will only be enforced at the times indicated by road signs.
Traffic will be prevented from using the following stretches of road during these times:
A4008 Aldenham Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Chalk Hill south westwards to its junction with Edinburgh Mews, a distance of approximately 86 metres
The southbound carriageway of B462 Aldenham Road, Watford from its junction with The Larches south westwards to its junction with A411 Chalk Hill, a distance of approximately 91 metres.
Making a right turn from A411 Chalk Hill into A4008 Aldenham Road, Watford whilst works are in progress.
