Two men were arrested following a police pursuit which came to an end outside Watford town hall.
Police on patrol in Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday spotted a vehicle that had been stolen from the London area and attempted to pull the driver over.
But police said the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit subsequently took place involving multiple police units.
The blue Ford was followed into Watford, where photos taken by the region’s armed policing unit revealed the driver eventually ran out of road after crashing into bollards outside Watford town hall in Hempstead Road.
The unit said two people were seen fleeing the vehicle and a search of the area was carried out, with support from dog unit.
Following a search, police reported on Twitter that two men were arrested in Watford in connection with the pursuit and taken into custody.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has been contacted for further details.
