The Met Office has warned of the possibility of ice and even snow in the coming days.
A ‘Green Level One’ alert is in place for the South East of England and London, with a 20 per cent chance of freezing conditions, according to the Met Office.
The Met Office says residents may have to deal with severe cold weather, icy conditions and possible snow between 9am tomorrow (Tuesday, 26 Jan) and 9am Sunday, January 31.
The warning follows snowfall across Hertfordshire, London and Essex last Sunday.
The chance of snowfall in the coming days rises to 60 per cent in the Yorkshire and North East England.
What is a Green Level One alert?
This is the minimum state of vigilance during the winter. During this time social and healthcare services will ensure that there is ongoing awareness and preparedness.
Met Office Advice
There are actions you can take to reduce the risk of harm to health from cold weather. These include fitting draught proofing to seal any gaps around windows and doors, making sure your loft, cavity walls, hot water cyclinder(s) and pipes are insulated. Contact your GP or pharmacist if you think you, or someone you care for, might qualify for a free flu jab.
