A blanket of snow has covered Hertfordshire and north London this morning.
While the morning started off with faint sleet, Hertfordshire was struck by snow and across the town readers were wondered by the charming snowfall.
The weather should be no surprise, as Watford weather observer John Bowe reported that last night (January 23) was -2.3 degrees Celsius – the coldest night of the year so far.
And with what could be considered a pleasant distraction to the typical lockdown routine, readers have shared delightful pictures of their children, dogs and families embracing the snow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice today and it remains in place until 11.59pm.
The weather forecaster said people should expect:
• Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
• Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
• Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
