Watford's ninth all-time appearance maker Johnny Williams has died aged 73, the club has announced.
The full-back made 419 appearances for the Hornets between 1964 and 1975 and was part of the title-winning team that achieved promotion to the Second Division for the first time in 1968/69.
Williams also contributed to the club’s first run to the FA Cup semi-finals in 1969/70.
He was just 15 when he joined Watford as an apprentice from Bennetts End Youth Club in 1962. He later played for Colchester United and Margate.
