A pony which fell down a hole around 10ft deep has been rescued.
Emergency services were in High Elms Lane, Abbots Langley, for several hours this morning (January 22), with firefighters and a vet working together to rescue the stuck Shetland pony.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue says it was called around 8.30am and found the pony had fallen down a hole in woodland around 10ft deep.
Fire crews had cleared the area and made it safe for the arrival of the vet, the fire service said.

Hertfordshire Constabulary was also called around 8.45am to assist.
Road closures were put in place by officers to allow the fire service and vet to retrieve the pony as quickly and safely as possible.
The pony was rescued from the hole around 12.30pm
Three Rivers Police said on Facebook: "Thankfully the pony is fine and being reunited with its friends having been accessed by a Vet."
All roads have now reopened.
