- One person was taken to hospital after freezing conditions caused a number of crashes on a dual carriageway this morning.

- Police were called to reports at around 6am that three vehicles had spun in icy conditions on the A405 in Bricket Wood.

- It appears the vehicles involved were two cars and a lorry. The northbound A405 was shut for around three-and-half-hours to allow recovery.

- Hertfordshire Constabulary initially tweeted before 6.30am: "The #A405 #BricketWood is currently CLOSED north bound between #M1 Jct6 to #M25 Jct21A due to the adverse weather. A frozen road surface has led to a number of RTCs. Delays expected - please use an alternative route."
