Bosses at a cancer centre are asking the public for their opinion in a review that could result in its relocation.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood is continuing its review of services to modernise patient care and improve its facilities.
The review first started in May 2019, and by July the site was found to be neglected, short of staff and not fit for purpose.
Many of the buildings were found to not be in a good state of repair, and concerns were raised regarding the long-term sustainability of the centre.
And with there being no high dependency or intensive care beds, poorly patients have to be rushed to Watford General and neighbouring hospitals.
At a Hertfordshire County Council meeting in December, it emerged that Watford had been earmarked as a preferred future site by the programme board.
Now a series of location specific engagement meetings in various areas are being held online to understand how the service impacts people in specific regions.
Opinions will be collected of current and former patients, families, carers, staff, clinicians and people who live in the area.
Anyone wishing to join the online meetings is asked to make a reservation in order to receive the Zoom meeting link.
- Residents in Watford can reserve a spot for the calls on either January 26 at 12pm, or March 18 at 6.30pm.
- Residents in Northwood can join the call for either February 9 at 1pm, or March 1 at 6.30pm.
- St Albans residents can reserve a spot for either March 11 at 6.30pm, or March 23 at 1pm.
- People in Harrow can join the call for either February 1 at 6.30pm or February 5 at 12pm.
- And in Brent & Ealing , a meeting will be held on February 3 at 1pm.
