A man was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the arm.
Police were called to a parade of shops in Baldwins Lane in Croxley Green at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.
A man was found injured and taken to hospital although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It's believed he may have been stabbed just yards away at Baldwins Lane Recreation Ground, before coming to the shops to seek help.
There was a big police presence in the Baldwins Lane area of Croxley Green throughout the afternoon and police taped off the entrance to the playing fields and skate park.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says no one has yet been arrested in connection with the incident but enquiries are ongoing.
