Watford Colosseum is set to undergo a “major refurbishment” as it is taken over by a council.
Watford Borough Council will take over operation of the Colosseum from today (Thursday) – and as a result all future performances have now been cancelled.
Several shows were scheduled to go ahead at the Colosseum, which is currently closed under Tier 4 measures, later next year.
In a tweet, Watford Colosseum said: “Watford Borough Council will take over the operation of Watford Colosseum from 24 December 2020.
“The council plans a major refurbishment and improvement programme of the venue ahead of reopening to the public and, as such, all future performances have been cancelled.”

The Colosseum added that it will be contacting all ticket-holders and those who hold credit and gift vouchers to arrange a full refund.
It added: “In most cases, refunds will be processed automatically back to your original payment method.
“There is no need to contact us and we will be in touch over the coming weeks. If you do need to contact us the only way to do this is via a form on our website.”
