Movie lovers can start to get excited as Vue has confirmed when it will be reopening its Watford cinema.
The cinema chain - which owns the theatre in Woodside Leisure Park - has said its doors will be back open to customers on Friday, August 21, following the coronavirus lockdown.
It comes following the successful reopening of 10 sites across the UK earlier this month after all Vue cinemas were closed back in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
People will find a range of new safety measures that have been introduced into the venue in Watford, including staggered film times to help with social distancing and reduce the number of people at any one time in foyers and corridors.
Every screen will be disinfected between each screening while hand sanitiser stations will be available as well for people to use.
Staff will also be equipped with personal protective equipment to protect themselves and customers.
An adapted booking system has also been introduced, meaning that customers in one booking are automatically seated apart from others.
People are also encouraged to book online before coming to the cinema.
James Kinsella, General Manager at Vue Watford, said: “We’re really pleased to be preparing to reopen our cinema once again and we look forward to welcoming film fans back soon.
“We’ve been working hard to ensure our site here in Watford meets safety protocols in line with the latest government guidance.”
All safety measures will also be signposted at the entrances and throughout the building.
Customers will be required to wear a face covering during their visit, although this can be removed to consume food and drink.
People will also be required to take part in the Test & Trace initiative to help keep themselves and others safe.
Mr Kinsella added: “We want film-lovers in Watford and surrounding areas to know that the quality of our viewing experience remains unchanged and customers will continue to enjoy the best audio and picture quality in big screen entertainment, especially with the upcoming release of hotly anticipated titles such as Tenet.
“We hope film-fans are excited as us at the return of the big screen where films like this are supposed to be seen.”
