The British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed a person hit by a train yesterday afternoon has died.
The emergency services were called to Bushey station at 4.37pm on Tuesday to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Police and paramedics attended the scene but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for the BTP added that the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Images taken outside Bushey station in Oxhey yesterday showed a vast emergency service response.
There were several police vehicles, ambulances, paramedic cars, and a hazardous response unit scattered around at the entrance to the station.
While the incident was ongoing, all lines were blocked causing severe disruption on the railway line between London Euston and Milton Keynes.
