A TV star will be stepping into the shoes of a musical legend in Rickmansworth next month.
Nolan sister and West End leading lady Denise Nolan is touring the UK with a new show, The Music of Judy Garland, which comes to Watersmeet on Saturday, February 22.
Denise shot to fame with her sisters as part of the original line up of The Nolans, making regular TV appearances on The Two Ronnies and The Cliff Richard Show. The Nolan sisters have remained at the forefront of showbusiness for over 40 years, with Denise making the jump to solo artist and performing her cabaret all over the world as well as starring in West End shows.
The Music of Judy Garland will feature a live seven piece band led by West End musical director Dave Bintley. The evening will feature Garland’s most popular songs, including Stormy Weather, Zing Went The Strings, and Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
With anecdotes about Garland’s life and comparisons to Nolan’s own career which include performing alongside Frank Sinatra, The Music of Judy Garland gives a vehicle for Nolan to bring her own vibrant style and world class vocals to classic Garland hits.
