Watford Borough Council has appointed its new managing director.
Donna Nolan has been given the top job, joining from Mendip District Council, in rural Somerset, where she held the role of deputy chief executive.
Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor says Ms Nolan brings a "wealth of experience" from her career at Mendip and in other roles she has held in the public and private sector, adding she is joining at a "very exciting time" for the council and town.
Following her appointment, Ms Nolan said: "I’m thrilled to be recommended as Watford Borough Council’s new managing director.
"It is an honour to have been offered the opportunity to work with Peter, the elected members and the excellent staff to deliver what will be an ambitious and exciting agenda for the future.
"Watford is a bold and forward-thinking authority and I am really excited by the opportunity to develop the borough’s reputation further and make sure that we deliver the best possible services for its communities. I can’t wait to start my new role in Watford."
Ms Nolan replaces Manny Lewis who will be retiring after spending 10 years leading Watford Borough Council.
