The heavens well and truly opened above Watford today with torrential rain falling across the town.
There were thunderstorms across the area and flash flooding in some parts but the rain doesn’t appear to have caused any problems on the roads.
Rain fell heavily in short spurts from around lunchtime until early rush hour.
In B&Q in Watford, one reader sent us in a video of the store’s roof leaking. Water was gushing out and although three buckets were put out, they were filled in seconds and staff appeared to have no choice but to let the water settle on the floor.

A weather map showing the scale of some of the rain showers earlier today. Circled is Watford
Despite the stormy weather, the Met Office currently has no weather warnings in place.

Low pressure is bringing wet and windy weather today.
But by Monday it’s high pressure over us which means dry and sunny weather for most and it’ll get a bit warmer next week too. pic.twitter.com/z3ATuPkOPX
