School children were treated to a surprise visit from SpongeBob SquarePants today after flexing their creative muscles to design him some new jeans.
Pupils at St Hilda’s Prep School and Bluebird Nursery in Bushey welcomed the famous Nickelodeon cartoon character after winning a national competition as part of Jeans for Genes Day with their ideas for his new pair of jeans.
The whole school was tasked with coming up with a new design as homework and was selected as the winning school out of hundreds of entries.
SpongeBob handed out prizes including scooters, guitars, ukuleles, footballs and rugby balls.
Pupils, who wore their jeans for the visit with their uniform tops, have helped raise over £150 to help Jeans for Genes transform the lives of children across the UK with life-altering genetic disorders.
Sarah Styles, Headmistress of St Hilda’s Prep School, said:
“Our girls are delighted to have won this prize, which is supporting such a great and worthy cause.
“We at St Hilda’s Prep School and Bluebird Nursery are heartened to know that our donation to Jeans for Genes will make a difference to those who are living with a life-altering genetic disorder. At St.
