A children’s charity have unveiled a new store.
Barnardo’s launched its new site in The Parade, Watford, earlier this month and Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor was on hand to cut the ribbon.
The shop is home to a treasure trove of high quality pre-loved items, including men’s and women’s clothing, books, games and homeware, along with children’s clothes and toys. Proceeds from the shop will help Barnardo’s support some of the most vulnerable children and young people in society.
It is the first Barnardo’s in Watford. The charity have a store in nearby Bushey Heath.
Naj Khimji, area business manager for Barnardo’s, said: “We are very grateful to Mayor Peter Taylor for officially opening our new charity shop at 69-71 The Parade.
“We have wanted to open a new store in Watford for a long time and we are delighted that we are now in a position where we are able to do so. We still need to recruit lots of volunteers so if anyone is interested, even if they can only spare a couple of hours a week, then please do get in touch by visiting the shop.”
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, added: “Barnardo’s is a fantastic charity and I was delighted to open its new shop at the Parade. This will make a wonderful addition to our town and I really hope residents will visit the store and volunteer their time to make it a big success.”
