A county councillor has resigned from his role.
Chris Hayward has stepped down from his role as Three Rivers Rural county councillor.
The Conservative, who is married to Three Rivers District Council’s Tory group leader Cllr Alex Hayward, was responsible for Chorleywood, Maple Cross, Sarratt, and Gade Valley.
The reason for Mr Hayward’s resignation is not known.
A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire County Council said: “The county council has received the resignation of Cllr Chris Hayward.
“To call an election in the Three Rivers Rural electoral division, a request must be made in writing to the Proper Officer by two electors within the county.”
It leaves two Conservative county councillors, two Lib Dems, and one Labour councillor representing Three Rivers.
