You’d be forgiven for thinking these photos were taken in Spain or at the very least, Cornwall.
But, of course, the sun is also shining in Watford, and with the addition of sand it is just like being beside the sea.
The seaside is now only a stone’s throw away as the Big Beach returned to The Parade by the pond on Saturday and it will run until Sunday, August 19.
Part of Watford Borough Council’s series of Big Events, the Big Beach uses real sand and promises to build on the success of previous Big Beach events.
Families and friends are being invited to join in with the free fun which takes place every day – from arts and crafts, to children’s activities and exercise classes, there is something for everyone.
Deputy Mayor of Watford Karen Collett, said: “I’m really excited to see the Big Beach back in Watford this summer. It has always been a success, with thousands of people enjoying the sand and free activities taking place.
“We are sure this year will be no different and will put a smile on the faces of children and adults alike.”
