A Conservative council candidate has been suspended reportedly for supporting white supremacists.
A Conservative Party spokesman has confirmed to the Observer today that Darren Harrison - who was standing in the Tudor ward in Watford in the elections on May 3 - is being investigated.
They said: “Darren Harrison has been suspended. An investigation is underway."
National media have reported he was a supporter of the pan-European white supremacist organisation Generation Identity and associated with the English Defence League’s former leader Tommy Robinson.
Mr Harrison’s Twitter account has now disappeared and he is no longer mentioned on the Watford Conservative party’s website.
