Plans to upsize the BP petrol station on Wiggenhall Road have been submitted to Watford Borough Council.
Under the plans, all structures at the site – including the existing shop, car wash, forecourt, storage building, canopy and underground fuel pumps – will be demolished and replaced by a much larger shop and forecourt.
Seventeen customer and nine staff parking bays are also planned, as is a charging point for an electric car alongside the usual air and water facilities.

According to the planning statement submitted on behalf of HKS Retail Ltd, the existing 100m2 shop requires “modernisation” and currently does not provide sufficient facilities.
One commentator said she would not oppose to the development as long as there was “adequate and safe access to and from the shop by public footpath”.
The application is currently being considered by the council.
