Engineers will begin the next phase of roadworks today as preparation work continues for the new rail link between Watford and Croxley Green.

Work began on diverting utility services in March as builders prepare to construct the Metropolitan Line Extension viaduct over Watford Road.

Transport for London has announced the latest areas in Croxley Green that could be affected by roadworks and warned of delays.

The transport authority warned these works could take up until Sunday, May 29.

On weekdays, between 9.30am and 4pm, a lane will be closed on the Watford Road roundabout. Motorists approaching the same roundabout will also merge into a single lane.

There will also be a stop/go board in Baldwins Lane controlling the traffic as one lane is closed between 9.30am and 4pm.

The pedestrian crossing on Watford Road will also be moved.

In a letter sent to residents living in the area, TFL stated: “In order to build the new viaduct over Baldwins Lane and Watford Road, we must divert a number of utilities in the area.

“These works began in early March and are due to take six months to complete.

“The next phase of works involve excavating areas of the carriageway and path in order to divert existing gas and electrical services.”
