A THIRD man has been arrested over the dog attack which left a police officer needing surgery.
The 21-year-old man was arrested this morning on suspicion of being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control in a public place.
He was due to be interviewed at Watford Police Station this afternoon.
Earlier, two other men, both aged 22, were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control in a public place, and bailed to return on Friday, May 11.
The mature Akita, named Reggie, one of a pair often seen exercising in the park, remains in the care of the Hertfordshire Constabulary.
PC Mo Huzair suffered three deep puncture wounds in his left arm after he tried to gain control of the dog as it attacked a woman in Watford last week.
It's believed the woman and her dog escaped injury, but an ambulance was called as blood streamed from the PC's bite wounds.
Police have yet to interview the victim of the dog attack and have appealed for her to come forward.
Anyone with information should telephone PC Archie Voyce-Bagsworth on 01923 472069.
