Harry Potter, Cinderella and Batman were just some of the fictional characters on hand to help celebrate the opening of Highwood Primary School's first ever library.
Students at the school, in Bushey Mill Lane, were joined by children's author, Andrea Shavick to mark the opening and celebrated the occasion by dressing up as their favourite fictional character.
Bob the Builder, Action Man and Little Red Riding Hood, together with the other 450 pupils dressed up as their favourite character, were then treated to a talk by local author and poet, Andrea, on how to write stories and poetry themselves.
Headmaster of Highwood, Poula Budge, said the school had previously kept most of its books in a corridor, but pupils could now benefit from facilities in the fully refurbished, modern library.
