Tens of thousands of people from all over UK visited the Hare Krishna temple in Aldenham this weekend to celebrate Janmashtami.
Every year, Bhaktivedanta Manor, in Hilfield Lane, transforms its grounds into a showstopping event with music, traditional dance performances and dramas to celebrate the birth of Hindu god, Lord Krishna.
One of the highlights this year was the recreation of the forests of Vrindavan in India where Lord Krishna played when he was growing up.
Visitors also got the opportunity to try Japa meditation and there was a Krishnaland for children.
There were stalls selling books, fresh organic produce, jewellery, musical instruments and CDs as well as a free vegetarian feast.
Around 1,500 volunteers aged between 16 to 90 volunteered their time throughout the weekend.
Srutidharma Dasa, temple president of said: "Janmashtami is without doubt the most special day in our calendar, because it marks the birth of Lord Krishna.
"Tens of thousands of visitors and volunteers give up their time every year to help transform Bhaktivedanta Manor for this wonderful festival - it is an inspiring achievement and was a spectacular event."
