Drivers who have received a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) for alleged speeding offences will be able to see all the relevant evidence from the safety cameras online and free of charge from today.
The Public Access service, which is to be provided by the Hertfordshire Safety Camera Partnership, will give password-protected access for drivers.
They will be able to view photographs of their vehicle, site maps, and camera calibration certificates relating to their alleged offence.
The site also features general information about the prosecution process.
Public Access is part of a programme designed to give both drivers and Partnership staff better access to information.
County Councillor Stuart Pile, Executive Member for Highways, Transport and Rural Affairs, said: "This new online service will ensure that drivers with internet access can exercise their right to information quickly and at any time.
"The selection of this system demonstrates the Partnership's commitment to honesty, openness and accountability. "
Access to the site is provided via a link at www.hertsdirect.org/safetycameras.
