Kate Middleton's mother allegedly calls it a toilet. Aristocrats say it should only be called a lavatory.
But Andy McBean, a freelance writer from Watford, is happy to refer to it as a bog, and he has dutifully documented his every visit over a 12-month period in his new book, A Year on the Bog.
Andy, 41, will be at Waterstones in The Harlequin shopping centre tonight (Thursday) signing copies of his book.
Andy said last year he spent in total four days, 14 hours, five minutes and 32 seconds "in the bog".
And while he is a little embarrassed about his latest book, he said his mother is proud.
