VOLUNTEERS are needed to help bring history to life and help establish a World War Two education project at the Lincolnsfield Centre in Bushey.
The Bushey Hall Living History Group, part of the Lincolnsfield Children's Charity, is looking for volunteers to help sweep out the Anderson shelter, maintain the "dig for victory" garden and look after the backyard chickens or simply supply wartime memories.
Volunteers will also be involved in talking to groups of children about life on the Home Front and in particular on the role of children and women in the war.
Project manager Francis McLennan said: "This is an opportunity for exciting, rewarding, hands-on volunteering which will help keep alive the reality of a very important period in our local history.
"The contributions of older members of the community and those interested in World War Two history will be acknowledged and really appreciated and will make such a difference to our work with children."
All volunteers will undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check, will receive any necessary training and will be reimbursed for any travel expenses incurred.
Anyone interested in helping should contact Jayne Dilkes or Francis on 01923 233841 or visit www.lincolnsfields.co.uk
