A web designer from Watford might lose more than just his energy reserves when he runs in this year's London Marathon.
Andrew Sidders (pictured left with his father) is running his third marathon on Sunday, April 22, and this year, he wanted to do things slightly differently to raise as much money as he can for charity.
The Rickmansworth Road resident has created a website - www.shaveorsave.co.uk - and visitors can vote whether he should shave or save his hair while at the same time donating money to his chosen charity, Victa, which helps visually impaired children.
Andrew also uses the website to write a training blog. His latest entry from April 15 reads: "I've done my final long training run and in one week's time I should have finished the marathon!
"I've still got a long way to go to reach my fund raising target of £1000. So please keep sponsoring me!
Currently its not looking very good for the future of my hair. This week, I've had a run of votes for shave. Votes for shave came from Liz Callaghan, and my Auntie Susan and my Uncle David. Thank you all!
"I also had one vote for save from Paul Keating. Thankyou!"
