A SPORTS physiotherapist will be dealing with a few aches and pains of her own when she competes in the London Marathon.
Diana Telco, 42, from Broxford Lane, Welwyn Garden City, aims to raise more than £1,500 for the charity Children with Leukaemia, running as part of its Mr Men and Little Miss Team.
Speaking last week, Mrs Telco said she was more used to treating her clients at the Gosling Sports Park Physiotherapy Clinic then tending to her own injuries, but suspected that she might be suffering from a pair of tight limbs next week.
She said: "It's unusual for me to be running it as well.
"Unfortunately, I can't treat myself but I do know how to avoid injury.
"I suppose it was me hitting 40 that got me thinking.
advertisement "I wanted to prove that being this old wasn't all about having a flabby midriff.
"I don't care about my time - I just want to get through it.
"I need to because someone has promised to give me £500 if I finish. Nobody will tell me who it is but I really want that money."
Children with Leukaemia is Britain's leading national charity dedicated exclusively to childhood leukaemia.
They undertake research into new treatments and offer support to leukaemic children and their families.
