A Kings Langley man has been arrested on suspicion of importing, possessing and selling banned firearms after 85 canisters of CS spray were recovered by police.
Officers believe an additional 100 canisters were sold nationwide in recent months over the internet and possibly abroad, for £10 each.
The western area tactical team recovered the canisters after an anonymous tip-off by a member of the public. They are now working with internet auction site eBay and HM Customs to investigate the alleged offences.
The 35-year-old man from Kings Langley has been bailed by police until May 25.
It is illegal to possess CS Spray in the UK. Anyone caught and found guilty could face up to ten years in prison.
