THE High Sheriff of Hertfordshire has rewarded some quick thinking with £250 after a man's prompt phone call to the police led to the arrest of two robbers.
Gareth Jones, from Bushey, was confronted on his doorstep by two men who had been part of a four man gang that had robbed William Hill Bookmakers in the High Street in April last year.
They asked Mr Jones for directions to Bushey station, but after he heard sirens in the background he dialled 999 and alerted the police, who arrested the men at the station.
