All lanes have now re-opened but there are still delays on the M25 anti-clockwise due to an earlier car fire.

The incident happened just before junction 21A (M1 south exit). The car collided with the central reservation before catching fire.

Herts fire attended the scene and put out the fire. No-one was injured.

All traffic was stopped just before 6am for 20 minutes. Lanes three and four remained closed for a short period whilst Highways recovered the vehicle.

There is currently congestion to junction 23 (A1 (M)/ A1081 South Mimms). Motorists can expect a 40 minute delay this morning.

Normal traffic conditions are expected from 8.30am.
