A £700,000 scanner that can take 200 images of a heart every second has been unveiled at Harefield Hospital.
The 64-slice CT scanner also captures pictures of a patient's lungs and a computer creates a 3D image that can be viewed from any angle.
The new technology will allow doctors to diagnose coronary heart disease without invasive procedures. The scanner fundraising appeal was launched by Joan Morecambe, wife of the late comic Eric, back in August 2005.
Eric had a triple bypass at Harefield but died in 1984.
