BOVINGDON and Kings Langley parish councils have taken part in a consultation to write a new community plan for Dacorum.
The current plan, which expires next year, contains themes such as reducing crime, improving social care and meeting housing needs.
And both councils have had their say on local issues by suggesting how their own communities could be improved.
The most common themes across the borough will be included in the Dacorum Community Plan for 2015.
At Bovingdon's monthly meeting on Monday, councillors and residents said they would like to see the village kept clean and tidy, building controls and protection of the green belt kept in place, the high street scene retained and the return of the fire station.
On Tuesday, Kings Langley councillors said they would like the plan to address crime, respond to the needs of children and young people, create a cleaner and healthier environment, encourage community involvement, and improve social care and health.
A Citizens Panel of 1,000 people will now be consulted on the plan, and a draft document is expected to be published in six months.
